Mark 11:18-20
Good News Translation
18 The chief priests and the teachers of the Law heard of this, so they began looking for some way to kill Jesus. They were afraid of him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.
19 When evening came, Jesus and his disciples left the city.
The Lesson from the Fig Tree(A)
20 Early next morning, as they walked along the road, they saw the fig tree. It was dead all the way down to its roots.

18 The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this and began looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him,(A) because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.(B)
19 When evening came, Jesus and his disciples[a] went out of the city.(C)
20 In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots.
