⁴⁵ For even the Son of Man ^(A)did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His ^[a]life as a ransom for many.”

³⁸ Therefore let it be known to you, ^[a]brothers, that ^(A)through ^[b]Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, ³⁹ and ^[c]through Him ^(B)everyone who believes is ^[d]freed ^[e]from all things, from which you could not be ^[f]freed ^[g]through the Law of Moses.

²⁴ being justified as a gift ^(A)by His grace through ^(B)the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, ²⁵ whom God displayed publicly as ^(C)a ^[a]propitiation ^[b](D)in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, ^[c]because in God’s merciful ^(E)restraint He ^(F)let the sins previously committed go unpunished; ²⁶ for the demonstration, that is, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who ^[d]has faith in Jesus.

⁸ But God ^(A)demonstrates ^(B)His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, ^(C)Christ died for us. ⁹ Much more then, having now been justified ^[a](D)by His blood, we shall be saved ^(E)from the wrath of God through Him.

¹⁹ namely, that ^(A)God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, ^(B)not counting their wrongdoings against them, and ^[a]He has ^[b]committed to us the word of reconciliation.

²⁰ Therefore, we are ^(C)ambassadors for Christ, ^(D)as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be ^(E)reconciled to God. ²¹ He made Him who ^(F)knew no sin to be ^[c](G)sin in our behalf, so that we might become the ^(H)righteousness of God in Him.

¹³ Christ ^(A)redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it is written: “^(B)Cursed is everyone who hangs on ^(C)a ^[a]tree”—

¹⁸ For ^(A)Christ also ^[a]suffered for sins ^(B)once for all time, the just for the unjust, so that He might ^(C)bring us to God, having been put to death ^(D)in the flesh, but made alive ^(E)in the ^[b]spirit;
