Let the Children Come to Me

13 (A)And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples (B)rebuked them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, (C)“Let the children come to me; (D)do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. 15 (E)Truly, I say to you, whoever does not (F)receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” 16 And (G)he took them in his arms and blessed them, (H)laying his hands on them.

13-16 The people brought children to Jesus, hoping he might touch them. The disciples shooed them off. But Jesus was irate and let them know it: “Don’t push these children away. Don’t ever get between them and me. These children are at the very center of life in the kingdom. Mark this: Unless you accept God’s kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you’ll never get in.” Then, gathering the children up in his arms, he laid his hands of blessing on them.

Jesus Blesses Little Children(A)

13 (B)Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for (C)of such is the kingdom of God. 15 Assuredly, I say to you, (D)whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will (E)by no means enter it.” 16 And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.
