²⁷ The people were all so amazed^(A) that they asked each other, “What is this? A new teaching—and with authority! He even gives orders to impure spirits and they obey him.”

¹⁴ One of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira^(A) named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart^(B) to respond to Paul’s message.

³² Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house.

³³ At that hour of the night^(A) the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized.^(B)

¹² Therefore do not let sin reign^(A) in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.
