16 (A)John responded to them all, saying, “As for me, I baptize you with water; but He is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the straps of His sandals; He will baptize you [a]with the Holy Spirit and fire. 17 His (B)winnowing fork is in His hand to thoroughly clear His threshing floor, and to gather the wheat into His barn; but He will burn up the chaff with (C)unquenchable fire.”
18 So with many other exhortations he preached the gospel to the people. 19 But when (D)Herod the tetrarch was reprimanded by him regarding (E)Herodias, his brother’s wife, and regarding all the evil things which (F)Herod had done, 20 Herod also added this to them all: (G)he locked John up in prison.

21 (H)Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized, and while He was (I)praying, heaven was opened,

He will baptize you with[b] the Holy Spirit and fire.(B) 17 His winnowing fork(C) is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”(D) 18 And with many other words John exhorted the people and proclaimed the good news to them.
19 But when John rebuked Herod(E) the tetrarch because of his marriage to Herodias, his brother’s wife, and all the other evil things he had done, 20 Herod added this to them all: He locked John up in prison.(F)
