Luke 19:16-22

16 The first came forward and said, ‘Master, your mina has earned 10 more minas.’
17 “‘Well done, good[a] slave!’ he told him. ‘Because you have been faithful(A) in a very small matter, have authority over 10 towns.’
18 “The second came and said, ‘Master, your mina has made five minas.’
19 “So he said to him, ‘You will be over five towns.’
20 “And another came and said, ‘Master, here is your mina. I have kept it hidden away in a cloth 21 because I was afraid of you, for you’re a tough man: you collect what you didn’t deposit and reap what you didn’t sow.’(B)
22 “He told him, ‘I will judge you by what you have said,[b] you evil slave! If you knew I was a tough man, collecting what I didn’t deposit and reaping what I didn’t sow,

17 “‘Well done, my good servant!’(A) his master replied. ‘Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.’(B)
18 “The second came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned five more.’
19 “His master answered, ‘You take charge of five cities.’
20 “Then another servant came and said, ‘Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth. 21 I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.’(C)
22 “His master replied, ‘I will judge you by your own words,(D) you wicked servant! You knew, did you, that I am a hard man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow?(E)
