But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. [a]And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can (A)cut it down.’ ”

A Spirit of Infirmity

10 Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. 11 And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way [b]raise herself up. 12 But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your (B)infirmity.” 13 (C)And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

14 But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had (D)healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, (E)“There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and (F)not on the Sabbath day.”

15 The Lord then answered him and said, [c]“Hypocrite! (G)Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it?

Jesus Heals a Crippled Woman on the Sabbath

10 On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues,(A) 11 and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years.(B) She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. 12 When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” 13 Then he put his hands on her,(C) and immediately she straightened up and praised God.

14 Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath,(D) the synagogue leader(E) said to the people, “There are six days for work.(F) So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.”

15 The Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water?(G)
