5 Aconteció que estando Jesús junto al lago de Genesaret, el gentío se agolpaba sobre él para oír la palabra de Dios. 2 Y vio dos barcas que estaban cerca de la orilla del lago; y los pescadores, habiendo descendido de ellas, lavaban sus redes. 3 Y entrando en una de aquellas barcas, la cual era de Simón, le rogó que la apartase de tierra un poco; y sentándose, enseñaba desde la barca a la multitud.(A) 4 Cuando terminó de hablar, dijo a Simón: Boga mar adentro, y echad vuestras redes para pescar. 5 Respondiendo Simón, le dijo: Maestro, toda la noche hemos estado trabajando, y nada hemos pescado;(B) mas en tu palabra echaré la red. 6 Y habiéndolo hecho, encerraron gran cantidad de peces,(C) y su red se rompía. 7 Entonces hicieron señas a los compañeros que estaban en la otra barca, para que viniesen a ayudarles; y vinieron, y llenaron ambas barcas, de tal manera que se hundían. 8 Viendo esto Simón Pedro, cayó de rodillas ante Jesús, diciendo: Apártate de mí, Señor, porque soy hombre pecador. 9 Porque por la pesca que habían hecho, el temor se había apoderado de él, y de todos los que estaban con él, 10 y asimismo de Jacobo y Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, que eran compañeros de Simón. Pero Jesús dijo a Simón: No temas; desde ahora serás pescador de hombres. 11 Y cuando trajeron a tierra las barcas, dejándolo todo, le siguieron.

5 (A)Now it happened that while the crowd was pressing around Him and listening to the word of God, He was standing by (B)the lake of Gennesaret; 2 and He saw two boats lying at the edge of the lake; but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets. 3 And (C)He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little distance from the land. And He sat down and continued teaching the crowds from the boat. 4 Now when He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, “Put out into the deep water and (D)let down your nets for a catch.” 5 Simon responded and said, “(E)Master, (F)we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but [a]I will do as You say and let down the nets.” 6 And when they had done this, (G)they caught a great quantity of fish, and their nets began to tear; 7 so they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both of the boats, to the point that they were sinking. 8 But when Simon Peter saw this, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man!” 9 For amazement had seized him and all his companions because of the catch of fish which they had taken; 10 and likewise also were [b]James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “(H)Do not fear; from now on you will be (I)catching people.” 11 When they had brought their boats to land, (J)they left everything and followed Him.

40 Vino a él un leproso, rogándole; e hincada la rodilla, le dijo: Si quieres, puedes limpiarme. 41 Y Jesús, teniendo misericordia de él, extendió la mano y le tocó, y le dijo: Quiero, sé limpio. 42 Y así que él hubo hablado, al instante la lepra se fue de aquel, y quedó limpio. 43 Entonces le encargó rigurosamente, y le despidió luego, 44 y le dijo: Mira, no digas a nadie nada, sino ve, muéstrate al sacerdote, y ofrece por tu purificación lo que Moisés mandó,(A) para testimonio a ellos. 45 Pero ido él, comenzó a publicarlo mucho y a divulgar el hecho, de manera que ya Jesús no podía entrar abiertamente en la ciudad, sino que se quedaba fuera en los lugares desiertos; y venían a él de todas partes.

2 Entró Jesús otra vez en Capernaum después de algunos días; y se oyó que estaba en casa. 2 E inmediatamente se juntaron muchos, de manera que ya no cabían ni aun a la puerta; y les predicaba la palabra. 3 Entonces vinieron a él unos trayendo un paralítico, que era cargado por cuatro. 4 Y como no podían acercarse a él a causa de la multitud, descubrieron el techo de donde estaba, y haciendo una abertura, bajaron el lecho en que yacía el paralítico. 5 Al ver Jesús la fe de ellos, dijo al paralítico: Hijo, tus pecados te son perdonados. 6 Estaban allí sentados algunos de los escribas, los cuales cavilaban en sus corazones: 7 ¿Por qué habla este así? Blasfemias dice. ¿Quién puede perdonar pecados, sino solo Dios? 8 Y conociendo luego Jesús en su espíritu que cavilaban de esta manera dentro de sí mismos, les dijo: ¿Por qué caviláis así en vuestros corazones? 9 ¿Qué es más fácil, decir al paralítico: Tus pecados te son perdonados, o decirle: Levántate, toma tu lecho y anda? 10 Pues para que sepáis que el Hijo del Hombre tiene potestad en la tierra para perdonar pecados (dijo al paralítico): 11 A ti te digo: Levántate, toma tu lecho, y vete a tu casa. 12 Entonces él se levantó en seguida, y tomando su lecho, salió delante de todos, de manera que todos se asombraron, y glorificaron a Dios, diciendo: Nunca hemos visto tal cosa.

2 When Jesus came back to Capernaum a few days later, it was heard that He was at home. 2 And (A)many were gathered together, so that there was no longer space, not even near the door; and He was speaking the word to them. 3 (B)And some people *came, bringing to Him a man who was (C)paralyzed, carried by four men. 4 And when they were unable to [a]get to Him because of the crowd, they (D)removed the roof [b]above Him; and after digging an opening, they let down the pallet on which the (E)paralyzed man was lying. 5 And Jesus, seeing their faith, *said to the paralyzed man, “Son, (F)your sins are forgiven.” 6 But some of the scribes were sitting there and thinking it over in their hearts, 7 “Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming! (G)Who can forgive sins except God alone?” 8 Immediately Jesus, aware [c]in His spirit that they were thinking that way within themselves, *said to them, “Why are you thinking about these things in your hearts? 9 Which is easier, to say to the (H)paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven’; or to say, ‘Get up, and pick up your pallet and walk’? 10 But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—He *said to the paralyzed man, 11 “I say to you, get up, pick up your pallet, and go home.” 12 And he got up and immediately picked up the pallet and went out in the sight of everyone, so that they were all amazed and (I)were glorifying God, saying, “(J)We have never seen anything like this!”

17 [a]One day He was teaching, and (A)there were some Pharisees and (B)teachers of the Law sitting there who had (C)come from every village of Galilee and Judea, and from Jerusalem; and (D)the power of the Lord was present for Him to perform healing. 18 (E)And some men were carrying a man on a stretcher who was paralyzed; and they were trying to bring him in and to set him down in front of Him. 19 But when they did not find any way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on (F)the roof and let him down (G)through the tiles with his stretcher, into the middle of the crowd, in front of Jesus. 20 And seeing their faith, He said, “[b]Friend, (H)your sins are forgiven you.” 21 The scribes and the Pharisees (I)began thinking of the implications, saying, “(J)Who is this man who speaks blasphemies? (K)Who can forgive sins, except God alone?” 22 But Jesus, [c]aware of their thoughts, responded and said to them, “Why are you thinking this way in your hearts? 23 Which is easier, to say: ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 24 But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,” He said to the (L)man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, get up, and pick up your stretcher, and go home.” 25 And immediately he got up before them, and picked up what he had been lying on, and went home (M)glorifying God. 26 And [d]they were all struck with astonishment and began (N)glorifying God. 21 “No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; otherwise, [b]the patch pulls away from it, the new from the old, and a worse tear results. 22 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost and the skins as well; but one puts new wine into fresh wineskins.”

14 Then the disciples of John *came to Him, asking, “Why do we and (A)the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?” 15 And Jesus said to them, “The [a]attendants of the groom cannot mourn as long as the groom is with them, can they? But the days will come when the groom is taken away from them, and then they will fast. 16 But no one puts a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for [b]the patch pulls away from the garment, and a worse tear results. 17 Nor do people put new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wineskins burst, and the wine pours out and the wineskins are ruined; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.”

33 Entonces ellos le dijeron: ¿Por qué los discípulos de Juan ayunan muchas veces y hacen oraciones, y asimismo los de los fariseos, pero los tuyos comen y beben? 34 Él les dijo: ¿Podéis acaso hacer que los que están de bodas ayunen, entre tanto que el esposo está con ellos? 35 Mas vendrán días cuando el esposo les será quitado; entonces, en aquellos días ayunarán. 36 Les dijo también una parábola: Nadie corta un pedazo de un vestido nuevo y lo pone en un vestido viejo; pues si lo hace, no solamente rompe el nuevo, sino que el remiendo sacado de él no armoniza con el viejo. 37 Y nadie echa vino nuevo en odres viejos; de otra manera, el vino nuevo romperá los odres y se derramará, y los odres se perderán. 38 Mas el vino nuevo en odres nuevos se ha de echar; y lo uno y lo otro se conservan. 39 Y ninguno que beba del añejo, quiere luego el nuevo; porque dice: El añejo es mejor.

33 And they said to Him, “(A)The disciples of John often fast and offer prayers, the disciples of the Pharisees also do [a]the same, but Yours eat and drink.” 34 And Jesus said to them, “You cannot make the [b]attendants of the groom fast while the groom is with them, can you? 35 (B)But the days will come; and when the groom is taken away from them, then they will fast in those days.” 36 And He was also telling them a parable: “No one tears a piece of cloth from a new garment and puts it on an old garment; otherwise he will both tear the new, and the patch from the new garment will not match the old. 37 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled out, and the skins will be ruined. 38 But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins. 39 And no one, after drinking old wine wants new; for he says, ‘The old is fine.’”
