12 The fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it. It shall not go out, but the priest shall burn wood on it every morning; and he shall lay out the burnt offering on it, and offer up in smoke the fat portions of the peace offerings (A)on it. 13 Fire shall be kept burning continually on the altar; it is not to go out.

14 ‘Now this is the law of the grain offering: the sons of Aaron shall present it before the Lord in front of the altar. 15 (B)Then one of them shall lift up from it a handful of the fine flour of the grain offering, [a]with its oil and all the incense that is on the grain offering, and he shall offer it up in smoke on the altar, a soothing aroma, as its memorial offering to the Lord. 16 And Aaron and his sons are to eat (C)what is left of it. It shall be eaten as unleavened cakes in a holy place; they are to eat it in the courtyard of the tent of meeting. 17 (D)It shall not be baked with leaven. I have given it as their share from My offerings by fire; (E)it is most holy, like the sin offering and (F)the guilt offering. 18 (G)Every male among the sons of Aaron may eat it; it is a permanent ordinance throughout your generations, from the offerings by fire to the Lord. [b](H)Whoever touches them [c]will become consecrated.’”

19 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 20 “This is the offering which Aaron and his sons are to present to the Lord on the day when he is anointed; the tenth of an [d](I)ephah of fine flour as (J)a [e]regular grain offering, half of it in the morning and half of it in the evening. 21 It shall be prepared with oil on a (K)griddle. When it is well stirred, you shall bring it. You shall present the grain offering in baked pieces as a soothing aroma to the Lord. 22 The anointed priest who will be in his place [f]among his sons shall [g]offer it. By a permanent ordinance it shall be entirely offered up in smoke to the Lord. 23 So every grain offering of the priest shall be burned entirely. It shall not be eaten.”

24 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 25 “Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, ‘This is the law of the sin offering: (L)in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, the sin offering shall be slaughtered before the Lord; it is most holy. 26 (M)The priest who offers it for sin shall eat it. It shall be eaten in a holy place, in the courtyard of the tent of meeting. 27 (N)[h]Whoever touches its flesh [i]will become consecrated; and when any of its blood spatters on a garment, you shall wash what spattered on it in a holy place. 28 Also (O)the earthenware vessel in which it was boiled shall be broken; and if it was boiled in a bronze vessel, then it shall be scoured and rinsed in water. 29 (P)Every male among the priests may eat it; (Q)it is most holy. 30 But no sin offering (R)of which any of the blood is brought into the tent of meeting to make atonement (S)in the Holy Place shall be eaten; (T)it shall be burned with fire.

The Priest’s Part in the Offerings

‘Now this is the law of the (U)guilt offering; it is most holy. In (V)the place where they slaughter the burnt offering they are to slaughter the guilt offering, and the priest shall sprinkle its blood around on the altar. Then he shall offer from it all its fat: the (W)fat tail and the fat that covers the entrails, and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them, which is on the loins; and he shall remove the lobe on the liver (X)with the kidneys. The priest shall offer them up in smoke on the altar as an offering by fire to the Lord; it is a guilt offering. (Y)Every male among the priests may eat it. It shall be eaten in a holy place; it is most holy. The guilt offering is like the (Z)sin offering: there is one law for them. The (AA)priest who makes atonement with it [j]shall have it. Also the priest who presents anyone’s burnt offering, [k]that priest shall have for himself the hide of the burnt offering which he has presented. Likewise, every grain offering that is baked in the oven and everything prepared in a [l]pan or on a (AB)griddle [m]shall belong to the priest who presents it. 10 Every grain offering, mixed with oil or dry, shall [n]belong to all the sons of Aaron, [o]to all alike.

The Sin Offering

24 The Lord said to Moses, 25 “Say to Aaron and his sons: ‘These are the regulations for the sin offering:(AB) The sin offering is to be slaughtered before the Lord(AC) in the place(AD) the burnt offering is slaughtered; it is most holy. 26 The priest who offers it shall eat it; it is to be eaten in the sanctuary area,(AE) in the courtyard(AF) of the tent of meeting.(AG) 27 Whatever touches any of the flesh will become holy,(AH) and if any of the blood is spattered on a garment, you must wash it in the sanctuary area. 28 The clay pot(AI) the meat is cooked in must be broken; but if it is cooked in a bronze pot, the pot is to be scoured and rinsed with water. 29 Any male in a priest’s family may eat it;(AJ) it is most holy.(AK) 30 But any sin offering whose blood is brought into the tent of meeting to make atonement(AL) in the Holy Place(AM) must not be eaten; it must be burned up.(AN)

The Guilt Offering

“‘These are the regulations for the guilt offering,(AO) which is most holy: The guilt offering is to be slaughtered in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, and its blood is to be splashed against the sides of the altar. All its fat(AP) shall be offered: the fat tail and the fat that covers the internal organs, both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which is to be removed with the kidneys.(AQ) The priest shall burn them on the altar(AR) as a food offering presented to the Lord. It is a guilt offering. Any male in a priest’s family may eat it,(AS) but it must be eaten in the sanctuary area; it is most holy.(AT)

“‘The same law applies to both the sin offering[g](AU) and the guilt offering:(AV) They belong to the priest(AW) who makes atonement with them.(AX) The priest who offers a burnt offering for anyone may keep its hide(AY) for himself.
