30 As for[a] any person who does any work on this very same day,[b] I will exterminate that person from the midst of his people. 31 You must not do any work; it is a lasting statute[c] throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 32 It is a Sabbath of complete rest[d] for you, and you shall deny yourselves on the ninth day of the month in the evening—from evening to evening you must observe your extraordinary[e] Sabbath.”

30 I will destroy from among their people(A) anyone who does any work on that day. 31 You shall do no work at all. This is to be a lasting ordinance(B) for the generations to come, wherever you live. 32 It is a day of sabbath rest(C) for you, and you must deny yourselves. From the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening you are to observe your sabbath.”(D)
