A Widow and a Judge

18 Jesus told his disciples a story about how they should keep on praying and never give up:

³⁶ Watch out and keep praying that you can escape all that is going to happen and that the Son of Man will be pleased with you.

¹² Let your hope make you glad. Be patient in time of trouble and never stop praying.

¹⁸ Never stop praying, especially for others. Always pray by the power of the Spirit. Stay alert and keep praying for God's people.

¹⁷ and never stop praying.

^5 (A) If any of you need wisdom, you should ask God, and it will be given to you. God is generous and won't correct you for asking. ⁶ But when you ask for something, you must have faith and not doubt. Anyone who doubts is like an ocean wave tossed around in a storm.

²⁰ Dear friends, keep building on the foundation of your most holy faith, as the Holy Spirit helps you to pray.
