12 The Ephraimite forces were called out, and they crossed over to Zaphon.(A) They said to Jephthah,(B) “Why did you go to fight the Ammonites without calling us to go with you?(C) We’re going to burn down your house over your head.”

She has not acknowledged(A) that I was the one
    who gave her the grain, the new wine and oil,(B)
who lavished on her the silver and gold(C)
    which they used for Baal.(D)

“Therefore I will take away my grain(E) when it ripens,
    and my new wine(F) when it is ready.
I will take back my wool and my linen,
    intended to cover her naked body.
10 So now I will expose(G) her lewdness
    before the eyes of her lovers;(H)
    no one will take her out of my hands.(I)
11 I will stop(J) all her celebrations:(K)
    her yearly festivals, her New Moons,
    her Sabbath days—all her appointed festivals.(L)
12 I will ruin her vines(M) and her fig trees,(N)
    which she said were her pay from her lovers;(O)
I will make them a thicket,(P)
    and wild animals will devour them.(Q)
13 I will punish her for the days
    she burned incense(R) to the Baals;(S)
she decked herself with rings and jewelry,(T)
    and went after her lovers,(U)
    but me she forgot,(V)
declares the Lord.(W)

14 “Therefore I am now going to allure her;
    I will lead her into the wilderness(X)
    and speak tenderly to her.
15 There I will give her back her vineyards,
    and will make the Valley of Achor[a](Y) a door of hope.
There she will respond[b](Z) as in the days of her youth,(AA)
    as in the day she came up out of Egypt.(AB)

16 “In that day,” declares the Lord,
    “you will call me ‘my husband’;(AC)
    you will no longer call me ‘my master.[c]
17 I will remove the names of the Baals from her lips;(AD)
    no longer will their names be invoked.(AE)
