12 They went up and camped at Kiriath-jearim in Judah. Therefore they called that place Mahaneh-Dan to this day—behold, it is west of Kiriath-jearim. 13 From there they passed on to the hill country of Ephraim and came to Micah’s house.

14 Then the five men that went to spy out the country of Laish said to their kinsmen, “Do you know that in these houses there are an ephod, household idols, a carved image and a molten image? Now therefore, consider what you have to do.”

12 On their way they set up camp near Kiriath Jearim(A) in Judah. This is why the place west of Kiriath Jearim is called Mahaneh Dan[a](B) to this day. 13 From there they went on to the hill country of Ephraim and came to Micah’s house.(C)

14 Then the five men who had spied out the land of Laish(D) said to their fellow Danites, “Do you know that one of these houses has an ephod,(E) some household gods and an image overlaid with silver?(F) Now you know what to do.”
