Resurrección de Lázaro

38 Jesús, profundamente conmovido otra vez, vino al sepulcro. Era una cueva, y tenía una piedra puesta encima. 39 Dijo Jesús: Quitad la piedra. Marta, la hermana del que había muerto, le dijo: Señor, hiede ya, porque es de cuatro días. 40 Jesús le dijo: ¿No te he dicho que si crees, verás la gloria de Dios? 41 Entonces quitaron la piedra de donde había sido puesto el muerto. Y Jesús, alzando los ojos a lo alto, dijo: Padre, gracias te doy por haberme oído. 42 Yo sabía que siempre me oyes; pero lo dije por causa de la multitud que está alrededor, para que crean que tú me has enviado. 43 Y habiendo dicho esto, clamó a gran voz: ¡Lázaro, ven fuera! 44 Y el que había muerto salió, atadas las manos y los pies con vendas, y el rostro envuelto en un sudario. Jesús les dijo: Desatadle, y dejadle ir.

El complot para matar a Jesús

45 Entonces muchos de los judíos que habían venido para acompañar a María, y vieron lo que hizo Jesús, creyeron en él. 46 Pero algunos de ellos fueron a los fariseos y les dijeron lo que Jesús había hecho. 47 Entonces los principales sacerdotes y los fariseos reunieron el concilio, y dijeron: ¿Qué haremos? Porque este hombre hace muchas señales. 48 Si le dejamos así, todos creerán en él; y vendrán los romanos, y destruirán nuestro lugar santo y nuestra nación. 49 Entonces Caifás, uno de ellos, sumo sacerdote aquel año, les dijo: Vosotros no sabéis nada; 50 ni pensáis que nos conviene que un hombre muera por el pueblo, y no que toda la nación perezca. 51 Esto no lo dijo por sí mismo, sino que como era el sumo sacerdote aquel año, profetizó que Jesús había de morir por la nación; 52 y no solamente por la nación, sino también para congregar en uno a los hijos de Dios que estaban dispersos. 53 Así que, desde aquel día acordaron matarle.

54 Por tanto, Jesús ya no andaba abiertamente entre los judíos, sino que se alejó de allí a la región contigua al desierto, a una ciudad llamada Efraín; y se quedó allí con sus discípulos.

55 Y estaba cerca la pascua de los judíos; y muchos subieron de aquella región a Jerusalén antes de la pascua, para purificarse. 56 Y buscaban a Jesús, y estando ellos en el templo, se preguntaban unos a otros: ¿Qué os parece? ¿No vendrá a la fiesta? 57 Y los principales sacerdotes y los fariseos habían dado orden de que si alguno supiese dónde estaba, lo manifestase, para que le prendiesen.

38 So Jesus, again being deeply moved within, *came to the tomb. Now it was a (A)cave, and a stone was lying against it. 39 Jesus *said, “Remove the stone.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, *said to Him, “Lord, by this time [a]there will be a stench, for he has been dead (B)four days.” 40 Jesus *said to her, “(C)Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” 41 So they removed the (D)stone. And Jesus (E)raised His eyes, and said, “(F)Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. 42 But I knew that You always hear Me; nevertheless, (G)because of the [b]people standing around I said it, so that they may believe that (H)You sent Me.” 43 And when He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 Out came the man who had died, (I)bound hand and foot with wrappings, and (J)his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus *said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”

45 (K)Therefore many of the Jews (L)who came to Mary, and (M)saw what He had done, believed in Him. 46 But some of them went to the (N)Pharisees and told them the things which Jesus had done.

Conspiracy to Kill Jesus

47 Therefore (O)the chief priests and the Pharisees (P)convened a (Q)council meeting, and they were saying, “What are we [c]doing in regard to the fact that this man is performing many [d](R)signs? 48 If we let Him go on like this, all the people will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take over both our [e](S)place and our nation.” 49 But one of them, (T)Caiaphas, (U)who was high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all, 50 nor are you taking into account that (V)it is in your best interest that one man die for the people, and that the whole nation not perish instead.” 51 Now he did not say this [f]on his own, but (W)as he was high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the nation; 52 and not for the nation only, but in order that He might also (X)gather together into one the children of God who are scattered abroad. 53 So from that day on they (Y)planned together to kill Him.

54 Therefore Jesus (Z)no longer continued to walk publicly among the Jews, but went away from there to the region near the wilderness, into a city called (AA)Ephraim; and there He stayed with the disciples.

55 Now (AB)the Passover of the Jews was near, and many went up to Jerusalem from the country prior to the Passover, (AC)in order to [g]purify themselves. 56 So they (AD)were looking for Jesus, and saying to one another as they stood in the temple area, “What do you think; that He will not come to the feast at all?” 57 Now (AE)the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if anyone knew where He was, he was to report it, so that they might arrest Him.

Diez leprosos son limpiados

11 Yendo Jesús a Jerusalén, pasaba entre Samaria y Galilea. 12 Y al entrar en una aldea, le salieron al encuentro diez hombres leprosos, los cuales se pararon de lejos 13 y alzaron la voz, diciendo: ¡Jesús, Maestro, ten misericordia de nosotros! 14 Cuando él los vio, les dijo: Id, mostraos a los sacerdotes.(A) Y aconteció que mientras iban, fueron limpiados. 15 Entonces uno de ellos, viendo que había sido sanado, volvió, glorificando a Dios a gran voz, 16 y se postró rostro en tierra a sus pies, dándole gracias; y este era samaritano. 17 Respondiendo Jesús, dijo: ¿No son diez los que fueron limpiados? Y los nueve, ¿dónde están? 18 ¿No hubo quien volviese y diese gloria a Dios sino este extranjero? 19 Y le dijo: Levántate, vete; tu fe te ha salvado.

La venida del Reino

(Mt. 24.23-28,36-41)

20 Preguntado por los fariseos, cuándo había de venir el reino de Dios, les respondió y dijo: El reino de Dios no vendrá con advertencia, 21 ni dirán: Helo aquí, o helo allí;(B) porque he aquí el reino de Dios está entre vosotros. 22 Y dijo a sus discípulos: Tiempo vendrá cuando desearéis ver uno de los días del Hijo del Hombre, y no lo veréis. 23 Y os dirán: Helo aquí, o helo allí. No vayáis, ni los sigáis. 24 Porque como el relámpago que al fulgurar resplandece desde un extremo del cielo hasta el otro, así también será el Hijo del Hombre en su día. 25 Pero primero es necesario que padezca mucho, y sea desechado por esta generación. 26 Como fue en los días de Noé,(C) así también será en los días del Hijo del Hombre. 27 Comían, bebían, se casaban y se daban en casamiento, hasta el día en que entró Noé en el arca, y vino el diluvio y los destruyó a todos.(D) 28 Asimismo como sucedió en los días de Lot;(E) comían, bebían, compraban, vendían, plantaban, edificaban; 29 mas el día en que Lot salió de Sodoma, llovió del cielo fuego y azufre, y los destruyó a todos. 30 Así será el día en que el Hijo del Hombre se manifieste. 31 En aquel día, el que esté en la azotea, y sus bienes en casa, no descienda a tomarlos; y el que en el campo, asimismo no vuelva atrás.(F) 32 Acordaos de la mujer de Lot.(G) 33 Todo el que procure salvar su vida, la perderá; y todo el que la pierda, la salvará.(H) 34 Os digo que en aquella noche estarán dos en una cama; el uno será tomado, y el otro será dejado. 35 Dos mujeres estarán moliendo juntas; la una será tomada, y la otra dejada. 36 Dos estarán en el campo; el uno será tomado, y el otro dejado. 37 Y respondiendo, le dijeron: ¿Dónde, Señor? Él les dijo: Donde estuviere el cuerpo, allí se juntarán también las águilas.

Parábola de la viuda y el juez injusto

18 También les refirió Jesús una parábola sobre la necesidad de orar siempre, y no desmayar, 2 diciendo: Había en una ciudad un juez, que ni temía a Dios, ni respetaba a hombre. 3 Había también en aquella ciudad una viuda, la cual venía a él, diciendo: Hazme justicia de mi adversario. 4 Y él no quiso por algún tiempo; pero después de esto dijo dentro de sí: Aunque ni temo a Dios, ni tengo respeto a hombre, 5 sin embargo, porque esta viuda me es molesta, le haré justicia, no sea que viniendo de continuo, me agote la paciencia. 6 Y dijo el Señor: Oíd lo que dijo el juez injusto. 7 ¿Y acaso Dios no hará justicia a sus escogidos, que claman a él día y noche? ¿Se tardará en responderles? 8 Os digo que pronto les hará justicia. Pero cuando venga el Hijo del Hombre, ¿hallará fe en la tierra?

Ten Men with Leprosy Healed

11 While He was (A)on the way to Jerusalem, (B)He was passing [a]between Samaria and Galilee. 12 And as He entered a village, ten men with leprosy who (C)stood at a distance met Him; 13 and they raised their voices, saying, “Jesus, (D)Master, have mercy on us!” 14 When He saw them, He said to them, “(E)Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they were going, they were cleansed. 15 Now one of them, when he saw that he had been healed, turned back, (F)glorifying God with a loud voice, 16 and he fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him. And he was a (G)Samaritan. 17 But Jesus responded and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But the nine—where are they? 18 [b]Was no one found who returned to (H)give glory to God, except this foreigner?” 19 And He said to him, “Stand up and go; (I)your faith has [c]made you well.”

Second Coming Foretold

20 Now He was questioned by the Pharisees (J)as to when the kingdom of God was coming, and He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God is not coming with [d](K)signs that can be observed; 21 nor will (L)they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ For behold, the kingdom of God is [e]in your midst.”

22 And He said to the disciples, “(M)The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23 (N)And they will say to you, ‘Look there,’ or, ‘Look here!’ Do not leave, and do not run after them. 24 (O)For just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part [f]of the sky, shines to the other part [g]of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day. 25 (P)But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. 26 (Q)And just as it happened (R)in the days of Noah, so will it also be in the days of the Son of Man: 27 people were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, and they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 [h]It was the same as happened in (S)the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, and they were building; 29 but on the day that Lot left Sodom, it rained fire and [i]brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 It will be [j]just the same on the day that the Son of Man (T)is revealed. 31 On that day, the one who will be (U)on the [k]housetop, [l]with his goods in the house, must not go down to take them out; and likewise the one in the field must not turn back. 32 (V)Remember Lot’s wife. 33 (W)Whoever strives to [m]save his [n]life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will keep it. 34 I tell you, on that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left. 35 (X)There will be two women grinding at the same place; one will be taken and the other will be left. 36 [[o](Y)Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left.”] 37 And responding, they *said to Him, “Where, Lord?” And He said to them, “(Z)Where the body is, there also the [p]vultures will be gathered.”

Parables on Prayer

18 Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they (AA)ought to pray and not (AB)become discouraged, 2 saying, “In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not (AC)respect any person. 3 Now there was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, ‘Give me justice against my [q]opponent.’ 4 For a while he was unwilling; but later he said to himself, ‘Even though I do not fear God nor (AD)respect any person, 5 yet (AE)because this widow is bothering me, I will give her justice; otherwise [r]by continually coming she will (AF)wear me out.’” 6 And (AG)the Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge *said; 7 now, will God not (AH)bring about justice for His (AI)elect who cry out to Him day [s]and night, and will He (AJ)delay long for them? 8 I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, (AK)will He find [t]faith on the earth?”
