⁴⁷ The territory of the ^(A)sons of Dan proceeded ^[a]beyond them; for the sons of Dan went up and fought with Leshem and captured it. Then they struck it with the edge of the sword and took possession of it and ^[b]settled in it; and they named ^[c](B)Leshem Dan after the name of their father Dan.

⁷ So the five men departed and came to ^(A)Laish, and saw the people who were in it living in security, in the way of the Sidonians, quiet and unsuspecting; for there was no ^[a]oppressive ruler humiliating them for anything in the land, and they were far from the Sidonians and had no dealings with anyone.
