Jonah 2:3-10

³ For You ^(A)threw me into the deep,
Into the heart of the seas,
And the current flowed around me.
All Your ^(B)breakers and waves passed over me.
⁴ So I said, ‘I have been ^(C)cast out ^[a]of Your sight.
Nevertheless I will look again ^(D)toward Your holy temple.’
^5 (E)Water encompassed me to the ^[b]point of death.
The ^(F)deep flowed around me,
Seaweed was wrapped around my head.
⁶ I ^(G)descended to the base of the mountains.
The earth with its ^(H)bars was around me forever,
But You have ^(I)brought up my life from ^[c]the pit, Lord my God.
⁷ While ^[d]I was ^(J)fainting away,
I ^(K)remembered the Lord,
And my ^(L)prayer came to You,
Into ^(M)Your holy temple.
⁸ Those who ^(N)are followers of worthless ^[e]idols
Abandon their faithfulness,
⁹ But I will ^(O)sacrifice to You
With a voice of thanksgiving.
That which I have vowed I will ^(P)pay.
^(Q)Salvation is from the Lord.”
