For You (A)threw me into the deep,
Into the heart of the seas,
And the current flowed around me.
All Your (B)breakers and waves passed over me.
So I said, ‘I have been (C)cast out [a]of Your sight.
Nevertheless I will look again (D)toward Your holy temple.’
(E)Water encompassed me to the [b]point of death.
The (F)deep flowed around me,
Seaweed was wrapped around my head.
I (G)descended to the base of the mountains.
The earth with its (H)bars was around me forever,
But You have (I)brought up my life from [c]the pit, Lord my God.
While [d]I was (J)fainting away,
I (K)remembered the Lord,
And my (L)prayer came to You,
Into (M)Your holy temple.
Those who (N)are followers of worthless [e]idols
Abandon their faithfulness,
But I will (O)sacrifice to You
With a voice of thanksgiving.
That which I have vowed I will (P)pay.
(Q)Salvation is from the Lord.”

10 Then the Lord commanded the (R)fish, and it vomited Jonah up onto the dry land.
