14 (A)Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and (B)did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?”

She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, “Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.”

16 Jesus said to her, (C)“Mary!”

She turned and said to [a]Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher).

17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet (D)ascended to My Father; but go to (E)My brethren and say to them, (F)‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to (G)My God and your God.’ ”

18 (H)Mary Magdalene came and told the [b]disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her.

The Apostles Commissioned(I)

19 (J)Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were [c]assembled, for (K)fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, (L)“Peace be with you.” 20 When He had said this, He (M)showed them His hands and His side. (N)Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic,(D) “Rabboni!”(E) (which means “Teacher”).

17 Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers(F) and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father(G) and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

18 Mary Magdalene(H) went to the disciples(I) with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her.

Jesus Appears to His Disciples

19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders,(J) Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace(K) be with you!”(L) 20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side.(M) The disciples were overjoyed(N) when they saw the Lord.
