^18 (A)The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of ^(B)the only Son of God.

^9 [a]that ^(A)if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and ^(B)believe in your heart that ^(C)God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

¹⁰ For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have set ^(A)our hope on ^(B)the living God, who is ^(C)the Savior of all mankind, especially of believers.

The Danger of Unbelief

^12 (A)Take care, brothers and sisters, that there will not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart ^[a]that falls away from ^(B)the living God. ¹³ But ^(C)encourage one another every day, as long as it is still called “today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the ^(D)deceitfulness of sin. ¹⁴ For we have become partakers of Christ ^(E)if we keep the beginning of our ^[b](F)commitment firm until the end, ¹⁵ while it is said,

¹⁶ For who ^(H)provoked Him when they had heard? Indeed, ^(I)did not all those who came out of Egypt led by Moses? ¹⁷ And with whom was He angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, ^(J)whose dead bodies fell in the wilderness? ¹⁸ And to whom did He swear ^(K)that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were ^(L)disobedient? ¹⁹ And so we see that they were not able to enter because of ^(M)unbelief.

³⁹ But ^[a]we are not among those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith for the safekeeping of the soul.

The Triumphs of Faith

11 Now faith is the ^(A)certainty of things ^[b](B)hoped for, a ^[c]proof of ^(C)things not seen.

⁶ And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who ^(A)comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He proves to be One who rewards those who seek Him.
