⁴ For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function,^{(A) 5} so in Christ we, though many, form one body,^(B) and each member belongs to all the others.

³ Make every effort to keep the unity^(A) of the Spirit through the bond of peace.^{(B) 4} There is one body^(C) and one Spirit,^(D) just as you were called to one hope when you were called^(E); ⁵ one Lord,^(F) one faith, one baptism; ⁶ one God and Father of all,^(G) who is over all and through all and in all.^(H)

¹³ until we all reach unity^(A) in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God^(B) and become mature,^(C) attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.^(D)

¹⁴ Then we will no longer be infants,^(E) tossed back and forth by the waves,^(F) and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.^{(G) 15} Instead, speaking the truth in love,^(H) we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head,^(I) that is, Christ.

¹³ Bear with each other^(A) and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.^{(B) 14} And over all these virtues put on love,^(C) which binds them all together in perfect unity.^(D)

¹⁵ Let the peace of Christ^(E) rule in your hearts, since as members of one body^(F) you were called to peace.^(G) And be thankful. ¹⁶ Let the message of Christ^(H) dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom^(I) through psalms,^(J) hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.^(K)
