John 8:29-46

29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
30 As he spake these words, many believed on him.
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.
38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?

29 And He who sent Me is with Me; (A)He [a]has not left Me alone, for (B)I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.” 30 As He said these things, (C)many came to believe in Him.
The Truth Will Set You Free
31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “(D)If you continue in My word, then you are truly My (E)disciples; 32 and (F)you will know the truth, and (G)the truth will set you free.” 33 They answered Him, “(H)We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, ‘You will become free’?”
34 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly I say to you, (I)everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. 35 Now (J)the slave does not remain in the house forever; (K)the son does remain forever. 36 So if the Son (L)sets you free, you really will be free. 37 I know that you are (M)Abraham’s descendants; yet (N)you are seeking to kill Me, because My word [b]has no place in you. 38 I speak of the things which I have seen [c]with My Father; therefore you also do the things which you heard from (O)your father.”
39 They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is (P)our father.” Jesus *said to them, “(Q)If you are Abraham’s children, do the deeds of Abraham. 40 But as it is, (R)you are seeking to kill Me, a man who has (S)told you the truth, which I heard from God; this Abraham did not do. 41 You are doing the deeds of (T)your father.” They said to Him, “We were not born as a result of sexual immorality; (U)we have one Father: God.” 42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, (V)you would love Me, (W)for I came forth from God and am here; for I have (X)not even come [d]on My own, but [e](Y)He sent Me. 43 Why do you not understand [f](Z)what I am saying? It is because you cannot (AA)listen to My word. 44 (AB)You are of (AC)your father the devil, and (AD)you want to do the desires of your father. (AE)He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because (AF)there is no truth in him. Whenever he tells [g]a lie, he (AG)speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of [h]lies. 45 But because (AH)I say the truth, you do not believe Me. 46 Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If (AI)I speak truth, why do you not believe Me?
