^24 (A)Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; ^(B)for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”

⁵⁶ Your father Abraham ^(A)rejoiced to see My day, ^(B)and he saw it and was glad.”

⁵⁷ Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?”

⁵⁸ Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, ^(C)before Abraham was, ^(D)I AM.”

⁵⁹ Then ^(E)they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, ^(F)going^[a] through the midst of them, and so passed by.

¹⁴ And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ^(A)‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”

^30 (A)I and My Father are one.”

Renewed Efforts to Stone Jesus

³¹ Then ^(B)the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. ³² Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?”

³³ The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for ^(C)blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, ^(D)make Yourself God.”
