17 But Jesus answered them, (A)“My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.”

18 Therefore the Jews (B)sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, (C)making Himself equal with God. 19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, (D)the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. 20 For (E)the Father loves the Son, and (F)shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel. 21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, (G)even so the Son gives life to whom He will. 22 For the Father judges no one, but (H)has committed all judgment to the Son, 23 that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. (I)He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

26 For (A)as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have (B)life in Himself, 27 and (C)has given Him authority to execute judgment also, (D)because He is the Son of Man. 28 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will (E)hear His voice 29 (F)and come forth—(G)those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. 30 (H)I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because (I)I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.

Before Abraham Was, I AM

48 Then the Jews answered and said to Him, “Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and (A)have a demon?”

49 Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon; but I honor My Father, and (B)you dishonor Me. 50 And (C)I do not seek My own glory; there is One who seeks and judges. 51 Most assuredly, I say to you, (D)if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.”

52 Then the Jews said to Him, “Now we know that You (E)have a demon! (F)Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say, ‘If anyone keeps My word he shall never taste death.’ 53 Are You greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? And the prophets are dead. (G)Who do You make Yourself out to be?”

54 Jesus answered, (H)“If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. (I)It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is [a]your God. 55 Yet (J)you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and (K)keep His word. 56 Your father Abraham (L)rejoiced to see My day, (M)and he saw it and was glad.”

57 Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?”

58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, (N)before Abraham was, (O)I AM.”

59 Then (P)they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, (Q)going[b] through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Jesus Prays for Himself

17 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, (A)the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, (B)as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He [a]should give eternal life to as many (C)as You have given Him. And (D)this is eternal life, that they may know You, (E)the only true God, and Jesus Christ (F)whom You have sent. (G)I have glorified You on the earth. (H)I have finished the work (I)which You have given Me to do. And now, O Father, glorify Me together [b]with Yourself, with the glory (J)which I had with You before the world was.

Jesus Prays for All Believers

20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who [a]will believe in Me through their word; 21 (A)that they all may be one, as (B)You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the (C)glory which You gave Me I have given them, (D)that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; (E)that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

24 (F)“Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; (G)for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father! (H)The world has not known You, but (I)I have known You; and (J)these have known that You sent Me. 26 (K)And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love (L)with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”
