⁵ Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born of ^(A)water and the Spirit, he cannot enter ^(B)the kingdom of God. ^6 (C)That which has been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which has been born of the Spirit is spirit.

⁴⁴ No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me ^(A)draws him; and I will ^(B)raise him up on the last day.

² For ^(A)the law of the Spirit of life ^[a]in ^(B)Christ Jesus ^(C)has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

⁵ For those who are in accord with the flesh set their minds on ^(A)the things of the flesh, but those who are in accord with the Spirit, ^(B)the things of the Spirit.

⁸ and those who are ^(A)in the flesh cannot please God.

⁹ However, you are not ^(B)in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God ^(C)dwells in you. But ^(D)if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. ^10 (E)If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is ^[a]alive because of righteousness. ¹¹ But if the Spirit of Him who ^(F)raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, ^(G)He who raised ^(H)Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies ^[b]through His Spirit who dwells in you.

⁹ but just as it is written:

^10 [a](B)For to us God revealed them ^(C)through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the ^(D)depths of God. ¹¹ For who among people knows the thoughts of a person except the ^(E)spirit of the person that is in him? So also the thoughts of God no one knows, except the Spirit of God. ¹² Now we ^(F)have not received the spirit of ^(G)the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God. ¹³ We also speak these things, ^(H)not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, ^[b]combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.

¹⁴ But ^[c]a ^(I)natural person ^(J)does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are ^(K)foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

¹⁷ For ^(A)the desire of the flesh is against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, ^(B)in order to keep you from doing whatever you want.

¹⁸ But if you are ^(A)led by the Spirit, ^(B)you are not under the Law.

⁴ But God, being ^(A)rich in mercy, because of ^(B)His great love with which He loved us, ⁵ even when we were ^(C)dead ^[a]in our wrongdoings, made us alive together ^[b]with Christ (^(D)by grace you have been saved), ⁶ and ^(E)raised us up with Him, and ^(F)seated us with Him in ^(G)the heavenly places in ^(H)Christ Jesus,
