²³ Now John also was baptizing in Aenon, near Salim, because there was an abundance of water there; and people were coming and being baptized—

⁴¹ So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand ^[a](A)souls.

¹² But when they believed Philip ^(A)as he was preaching the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were being ^(B)baptized.

³⁵ Then Philip ^(A)opened his mouth, and ^(B)beginning from this Scripture he ^(C)preached Jesus to him. ³⁶ As they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch *said, “Look! Water! ^(D)What prevents me from being baptized?”^{[a] 38} And he ordered that the ^[b]chariot stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him.

¹² having been ^(A)buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also ^(B)raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who ^(C)raised Him from the dead.
