John 2:18-20

Good News Translation

¹⁸The Jewish authorities came back at him with a question, “What miracle can you perform to show us that you have the right to do this?”

¹⁹^(A)Jesus answered, “Tear down this Temple, and in three days I will build it again.”

²⁰“Are you going to build it again in three days?” they asked him. “It has taken forty-six years to build this Temple!”

¹⁸The Jews^(A) then responded to him, “What sign^(B) can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?”^(C)

¹⁹Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”^(D)

²⁰They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?”
