The High Priestly Prayer
17 Jesus spoke these things; and (A)raising His eyes to heaven, He said, “Father, the hour has come; (B)glorify Your Son, so that the Son may glorify You, 2 just as (C)You gave Him authority over all [a]mankind, so that [b](D)to all whom You have given Him, (E)He may give eternal life. 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, (F)the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom (G)You have sent. 4 (H)I glorified You on the earth [c](I)by accomplishing the work which You have given Me to do. 5 And now You, Father, (J)glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had (K)with You before the world existed.
6 “(L)I have revealed Your name to the men whom (M)You gave Me out of the world; they were (N)Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have (O)followed Your word. 7 Now they have come to know that everything which You have given Me is from You; 8 for (P)the words which You gave Me (Q)I have given to them; and they received them and truly understood that (R)I came forth from You, and they believed that (S)You sent Me. 9 (T)I ask on their behalf; (U)I do not ask on behalf of the world, but on the behalf of those whom (V)You have given Me, because (W)they are Yours; 10 and (X)all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I have been glorified in them. 11 I am no longer going to be in the world; and yet (Y)they themselves are in the world, and (Z)I am coming to You. (AA)Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name (AB)which You have given Me, so that (AC)they may be one just as We are. 12 While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name, (AD)which You have given Me; and I guarded them, and (AE)not one of them perished except (AF)the [d]son of destruction, so that the (AG)Scripture would be fulfilled.
The Disciples in the World
13 But now (AH)I am coming to You; and (AI)these things I speak in the world so that they may have My (AJ)joy made full in themselves. 14 I have given them Your word; and (AK)the world has hated them because (AL)they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I am not asking You to take them out of the world, but to keep them away from [e](AM)the evil one. 16 (AN)They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 (AO)Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. 18 Just as (AP)You sent Me into the world, (AQ)I also sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I (AR)sanctify Myself, so that they themselves also may be (AS)sanctified (AT)in truth.
20 “I am not asking on behalf of these alone, but also for those who believe in Me through their word, 21 that they may all be one; (AU)just as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, (AV)so that the world may [f]believe that (AW)You sent Me.
Disciples’ Future Glory
22 The (AX)glory which You have given Me I also have given to them, so that they may be one, just as We are one; 23 (AY)I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected [g]in unity, so that the world may [h]know that (AZ)You sent Me, and You (BA)loved them, just as You loved Me. 24 Father, I desire that (BB)they also, whom You have given Me, (BC)be with Me where I am, so that they may see My (BD)glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before (BE)the foundation of the world.
25 “(BF)Righteous Father, [i]although (BG)the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that (BH)You sent Me; 26 and (BI)I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that (BJ)the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

The Voice
17 Jesus (lifting His face to the heavens): Father, My time has come. Glorify Your Son, and I will bring You great glory 2-3 because You have given Me total authority over humanity. I have come bearing the plentiful gifts of God; and all who receive Me will experience everlasting life, a new intimate relationship with You (the one True God) and Jesus the Anointed (the One You have sent). 4 I have glorified You on earth and fulfilled the mission You set before Me.
5 In this moment, Father, fuse Our collective glory and bring Us together as We were before creation existed. 6 You have entrusted Me with these men who have come out of this corrupt world order. I have told them about Your nature and declared Your name to them, and they have held on to Your words and understood that these words, 7 like everything else You have given Me, come from You. 8 It is true that these men You gave Me have received the words that come from You and not only understood them but also believed that You sent Me. 9 I am now making an appeal to You on their behalf. This request is not for the entire world; it is for those whom You have given to Me because they are Yours. 10 Yours and Mine, Mine and Yours, for all that are Mine are Yours. Through them I have been glorified.
11 I will no longer be physically present in this world, but they will remain in this world. As I return to be with You, holy Father, remain with them through Your name, the name You have given Me. May they be one even as We are one. 12 While I was physically present with them, I protected them through Your name. I watched over them closely; and only one was lost, the one the Scriptures said was the son of destruction. 13 Now I am returning to You. I am speaking this prayer here in the created cosmos alongside friends and foes so that in hearing it they might be consumed with joy. 14 I have given them Your word; and the world has despised them because they are not products of the world, in the same way that I am not a product of the corrupt world order. 15 Do not take them out of this world; protect them from the evil one.
16 Like Me, they are not products of the corrupt world order. 17 Immerse them in the truth, the truth Your voice speaks. 18 In the same way You sent Me into this world, I am sending them. 19 It is entirely for their benefit that I have set Myself apart so that they may be set apart by truth. 20 I am not asking solely for their benefit; this prayer is also for all the believers who will follow them and hear them speak. 21 Father, may they all be one as You are in Me and I am in You; may they be in Us, for by this unity the world will believe that You sent Me.
22 All the glory You have given to Me, I pass on to them. May that glory unify them and make them one as We are one, 23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be refined so that all will know that You sent Me, and You love them in the same way You love Me.
In this great prayer that Jesus prays for His disciples, He returns repeatedly to the gathering of believers unified with the Father and the Son.
24 Father, I long for the time when those You have given Me can join Me in My place so they may witness My glory, which comes from You. You have loved Me before the foundations of the cosmos were laid. 25 Father, You are just; though this corrupt world order does not know You, I do. These followers know that You have sent Me. 26 I have told them about Your nature; and I will continue to speak of Your name in order that Your love, which was poured out on Me, will be in them. And I will also be in them.

17 Estas cosas habló Jesús, y alzando los ojos al cielo(A), dijo: «Padre, la hora ha llegado; glorifica a Tu Hijo, para que el Hijo te glorifique a Ti(B), 2 por cuanto le diste autoridad sobre todo ser humano[a](C), para que Él dé vida eterna(D) a todos los que le has dado[b](E).
3 »Y esta es la vida eterna: que te conozcan a Ti, el único Dios verdadero(F), y a Jesucristo, a quien has enviado(G). 4 Yo te glorifiqué(H) en la tierra, habiendo terminado la obra que me diste que hiciera(I). 5 Y ahora, glorifícame Tú, Padre(J), junto a Ti, con la gloria que tenía contigo antes que el mundo existiera(K).
6 »He manifestado Tu nombre(L) a los hombres que del mundo me diste(M); eran Tuyos(N) y me los diste, y han guardado Tu palabra(O). 7 Ahora han conocido que todo lo que me has dado viene de Ti; 8 porque Yo les he dado las palabras(P) que me diste(Q); y las recibieron, y entendieron que en verdad salí de Ti(R), y creyeron que Tú me enviaste(S).
9 »Yo ruego por ellos(T); no ruego por el mundo(U), sino por los que me has dado(V); porque son Tuyos(W); 10 y todo lo Mío es Tuyo, y lo Tuyo, Mío(X); y he sido glorificado en ellos.
11 »Ya no estoy en el mundo, pero ellos sí están en el mundo, y Yo voy a Ti(Y). Padre santo(Z), guárdalos en Tu nombre, el nombre que[c] me has dado(AA), para que sean uno, así como Nosotros somos uno(AB). 12 Cuando Yo estaba con ellos, los guardaba en Tu nombre, el nombre que[d] me diste(AC); y los guardé y ninguno se perdió(AD), excepto el hijo de perdición(AE), para que la Escritura se cumpliera(AF). 13 Pero ahora voy a Ti(AG); y hablo esto en el mundo para que tengan Mi gozo completo en sí mismos(AH).
14 »Yo les he dado Tu palabra y el mundo los ha odiado(AI), porque no son del mundo, como tampoco Yo soy del mundo(AJ). 15 No te ruego que los saques del mundo, sino que los guardes del maligno(AK). 16 Ellos no son del mundo, como tampoco Yo soy del mundo(AL).
17 »Santifícalos en la verdad; Tu palabra es verdad(AM). 18 Como Tú me enviaste(AN) al mundo, Yo también los he enviado(AO) al mundo. 19 Y por ellos Yo me santifico(AP), para que ellos también sean santificados(AQ) en la verdad(AR).
20 »Pero no ruego solo por estos, sino también por los que han de creer en Mí por la palabra de ellos, 21 para que todos sean uno. Como Tú, oh Padre, estás en Mí y Yo en Ti(AS), que también ellos estén en Nosotros, para que el mundo crea[e] que Tú me enviaste(AT).
22 »La gloria que me diste(AU) les he dado, para que sean uno, así como Nosotros somos uno: 23 Yo en ellos, y Tú en Mí, para que sean perfeccionados en unidad[f](AV), para que el mundo sepa[g] que Tú me enviaste(AW), y que los amaste(AX) tal como me has amado a Mí.
24 »Padre, quiero que los que me has dado(AY), estén también conmigo donde Yo estoy[h](AZ), para que vean Mi gloria, la gloria que me has dado(BA); porque me has amado desde antes de la fundación del mundo(BB). 25 Oh Padre justo(BC), aunque[i] el mundo no te ha conocido, Yo te he conocido(BD), y estos han conocido que Tú me enviaste(BE). 26 Yo les he dado a conocer Tu nombre(BF), y lo daré a conocer, para que el amor con que me amaste(BG) esté en ellos y Yo en ellos».
