11 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and (A)that your joy may be full. 12 (B)This is My (C)commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 (D)Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. 14 (E)You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, (F)for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.

20 Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and (A)lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into (B)joy. 21 (C)A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. 22 Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and (D)your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.

23 “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. (E)Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, (F)that your joy may be (G)full.

11 (A)Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, (B)keep[a] through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one (C)as We are. 12 While I was with them [b]in the world, (D)I kept them in [c]Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and (E)none of them is [d]lost (F)except the son of [e]perdition, (G)that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13 But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 I have given them Your word; (H)and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, (I)just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but (J)that You should keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 (K)Sanctify[f] them by Your truth. (L)Your word is truth. 18 (M)As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. 19 And (N)for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.
