¹⁸ “In that day the mountains will drip new wine,^(A)
    and the hills will flow with milk;^(B)
    all the ravines of Judah will run with water.^(C)
A fountain will flow out of the Lord’s house^(D)
    and will water the valley of acacias.^[a](E)

²³ Be glad, people of Zion,
    rejoice^(A) in the Lord your God,
for he has given you the autumn rains
    because he is faithful.^(B)
He sends you abundant showers,^(C)
    both autumn^(D) and spring rains,^(E) as before.
²⁴ The threshing floors will be filled with grain;
    the vats will overflow^(F) with new wine^(G) and oil.

⁸ The Lord has sworn^(A) by his right hand
    and by his mighty arm:
“Never again will I give your grain^(B)
    as food for your enemies,
and never again will foreigners drink the new wine
    for which you have toiled;
⁹ but those who harvest it will eat^(C) it
    and praise the Lord,^(D)
and those who gather the grapes will drink it
    in the courts of my sanctuary.”^(E)

⁶ On this mountain^(A) the Lord Almighty will prepare
    a feast^(B) of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine—
    the best of meats and the finest of wines.^(C)

¹² They will come and shout for joy^(A) on the heights^(B) of Zion;
    they will rejoice in the bounty^(C) of the Lord—
the grain, the new wine and the olive oil,^(D)
    the young of the flocks^(E) and herds.
They will be like a well-watered garden,^(F)
    and they will sorrow^(G) no more.

¹⁰ “Hear the word of the Lord, you nations;
    proclaim it in distant coastlands:^(A)
‘He who scattered^(B) Israel will gather^(C) them
    and will watch over his flock like a shepherd.’^(D)
11 For the Lord will deliver Jacob
    and redeem^(E) them from the hand of those stronger^(F) than they.
¹² They will come and shout for joy^(G) on the heights^(H) of Zion;
    they will rejoice in the bounty^(I) of the Lord—
the grain, the new wine and the olive oil,^(J)
    the young of the flocks^(K) and herds.
They will be like a well-watered garden,^(L)
    and they will sorrow^(M) no more.

⁶ There will be a day when watchmen^(A) cry out
    on the hills of Ephraim,
‘Come, let us go up to Zion,
    to the Lord our God.’”^(B)

“Sing^(C) with joy for Jacob;
    shout for the foremost^(D) of the nations.
Make your praises heard, and say,
    ‘Lord, save^(E) your people,
    the remnant^(F) of Israel.’
⁸ See, I will bring them from the land of the north^(G)
    and gather^(H) them from the ends of the earth.
Among them will be the blind^(I) and the lame,^(J)
    expectant mothers and women in labor;
    a great throng will return.
⁹ They will come with weeping;^(K)
    they will pray as I bring them back.
I will lead^(L) them beside streams of water^(M)
    on a level^(N) path where they will not stumble,
because I am Israel’s father,^(O)
    and Ephraim is my firstborn son.

²² and the earth will respond to the grain,
    the new wine and the olive oil,^(A)
    and they will respond to Jezreel.^[a](B)

²¹ “In that day I will respond,”
    declares the Lord—
“I will respond^(A) to the skies,
    and they will respond to the earth;
²² and the earth will respond to the grain,
    the new wine and the olive oil,^(B)
    and they will respond to Jezreel.^[a](C)
23 I will plant^(D) her for myself in the land;
    I will show my love to the one I called ‘Not my loved one.^[b](E)’
I will say to those called ‘Not my people,^[c]’ ‘You are my people’;^(F)
    and they will say, ‘You are my God.^(G)’”
