⁸ Proud beasts^(A) do not set foot on it,
    and no lion prowls there.^(B)
9 People assault the flinty rock^(C) with their hands
    and lay bare the roots of the mountains.^(D)
10 They tunnel through the rock;^(E)
    their eyes see all its treasures.^(F)
11 They search^[a] the sources of the rivers^(G)
    and bring hidden things^(H) to light.
