Job 31:35-40

³⁵ (“Oh, that I had someone to hear me!^(A)
    I sign now my defense—let the Almighty answer me;
    let my accuser^(B) put his indictment in writing.
³⁶ Surely I would wear it on my shoulder,^(C)
    I would put it on like a crown.^(D)
37 I would give him an account of my every step;^(E)
    I would present it to him as to a ruler.^(F))—

³⁸ “if my land cries out against me^(G)
    and all its furrows are wet^(H) with tears,
³⁹ if I have devoured its yield without payment^(I)
    or broken the spirit of its tenants,^(J)
40 then let briers^(K) come up instead of wheat
    and stinkweed^(L) instead of barley.”
