²⁶ The gates^(A) of Zion will lament and mourn;^(B)
    destitute,^(C) she will sit on the ground.^(D)

³ In the streets they wear sackcloth;^(A)
    on the roofs^(B) and in the public squares^(C)
they all wail,^(D)
    prostrate with weeping.^(E)

⁴ The roads to Zion mourn,^(A)
    for no one comes to her appointed festivals.
All her gateways are desolate,^(B)
    her priests groan,
her young women grieve,
    and she is in bitter anguish.^(C)
