Job 1:9-12
Amplified Bible
9 Then Satan answered the Lord, “Does Job fear God for nothing? 10 Have You not put a hedge [of protection] around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands [and conferred prosperity and happiness upon him], and his possessions have increased in the land. 11 But put forth Your hand now and touch (destroy) all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face.” 12 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that Job has is in your power, only do not put your hand on the man himself.” So Satan departed from the presence of the Lord.

9 “Does Job fear God for nothing?”(A) Satan replied. 10 “Have you not put a hedge(B) around him and his household and everything he has?(C) You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.(D) 11 But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has,(E) and he will surely curse you to your face.”(F)
12 The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has(G) is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.”(H)
Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
