¹⁶ “For God so ^(A)loved the world, that He ^(B)gave His ^(C)only Son, so that everyone who ^(D)believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.

^5 (A)He saved us, ^(B)not on the basis of deeds which we did in righteousness, but ^(C)in accordance with His mercy, by the ^(D)washing of regeneration and ^(E)renewing by the Holy Spirit, ^6 (F)whom He ^(G)richly poured out upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior, ⁷ so that being justified by His grace we would be made ^(H)heirs ^[a]according to the hope of eternal life.

⁹ Much more then, having now been justified ^[a](A)by His blood, we shall be saved ^(B)from the wrath of God through Him. ¹⁰ For if while we were ^(C)enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved ^[b](D)by His life.
