¹¹ This whole land will become a desolate ruin, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon for seventy years.^{(A) 12} When the seventy years are completed, I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation’—this is the Lord’s declaration—‘the land of the Chaldeans, for their iniquity, and I will make it a ruin forever.^{(B) 13} I will bring on that land all my words I have spoken against it, all that is written in this book that Jeremiah prophesied against all the nations. ¹⁴ For many nations and great kings will enslave them, and I will repay them according to their deeds and the work of their hands.’”^(C)

²² ‘They will be taken to Babylon and will remain there until I attend to them again.’^(A) This is the Lord’s declaration. ‘Then I will bring them up and restore them to this place.’”^(B)

¹⁰ For this is what the Lord says: “When seventy years for Babylon are complete,^(A) I will attend to you and will confirm my promise concerning you to restore you to this place. ¹¹ For I know the plans I have for you”^(B)—this is the Lord’s declaration—“plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. ¹² You will call to me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.^{(C) 13} You will seek me^(D) and find me when you search for me with all your heart. ¹⁴ I will be found by you”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“and I will restore your fortunes^[a](E) and gather you from all the nations and places where I banished you”—this is the Lord’s declaration. “I will restore you to the place from which I deported you.”^(F)

⁷ I will restore the fortunes^[a] of Judah and of Israel and will rebuild them as in former times.^{(A) 8} I will purify them from all the iniquity they have committed against me,^(B) and I will forgive all the iniquities they have committed against me, rebelling against me. ⁹ This city will bear on my behalf a name of joy, praise, and glory^(C) before all the nations of the earth, who will hear of all the prosperity I will give them. They will tremble with awe because of all the good and all the peace^(D) I will bring about for them.
