Jeremiah 50:37-39
English Standard Version

37 A sword against her horses and against her chariots,
    and against all (A)the foreign troops in her midst,
    that (B)they may become women!
(C)A sword against all her treasures,
    that they may be plundered!
38 (D)A drought against her waters,
    that they may be dried up!
(E)For it is a land of images,
    and they are mad over idols.

39 (F)“Therefore wild beasts shall dwell with hyenas in Babylon,[a] and ostriches shall dwell in her. She shall never again have people, nor be inhabited for all generations.

    They will become weaklings.(B)
A sword against her treasures!(C)
    They will be plundered.
38 A drought on[a] her waters!(D)
    They will dry(E) up.
For it is a land of idols,(F)
    idols that will go mad with terror.

39 “So desert creatures(G) and hyenas will live there,
    and there the owl will dwell.
It will never again be inhabited
    or lived in from generation to generation.(H)
