² “Declare among the nations and proclaim,
    set up a banner and proclaim,
    conceal it not, and say:
^(A)‘Babylon is taken,
    ^(B)Bel is put to shame,
    Merodach is dismayed.
^(C)Her images are put to shame,
    her idols are dismayed.’

⁴⁴ And I will punish ^(A)Bel in Babylon,
    and ^(B)take out of his mouth ^(C)what he has swallowed.
^(D)The nations shall no longer flow to him;
    ^(E)the wall of Babylon has fallen.

⁹ And behold, here come riders,
    horsemen in pairs!”
^(A)And he answered,
    ^(B)“Fallen, fallen is Babylon;
^(C)and all the carved images of her gods
    he has shattered to the ground.”
