    and sit on the parched ground,
    O inhabitant of (B)Dibon!
For the destroyer of Moab has come up against you;
    he has destroyed your strongholds.
19 (C)Stand by the way (D)and watch,
    O inhabitant of (E)Aroer!
Ask him who flees and her who escapes;
    say, ‘What has happened?’
20 Moab is put to shame, for it is broken;
    (F)wail and cry!
Tell it beside (G)the Arnon,
    that (H)Moab is laid waste.

for the one who destroys Moab
    will come up against you
    and ruin your fortified cities.(C)
19 Stand by the road and watch,
    you who live in Aroer.(D)
Ask the man fleeing and the woman escaping,
    ask them, ‘What has happened?’
20 Moab is disgraced, for she is shattered.
    Wail(E) and cry out!
Announce by the Arnon(F)
    that Moab is destroyed.
