34 They set up (A)their abominations in the house that is called by my name, to defile it. 35 They built the high places of Baal (B)in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, (C)to offer up their sons and daughters to Molech, (D)though I did not command them, nor did it enter into my mind, that they should do (E)this abomination, (F)to cause Judah to sin.

36 “Now therefore thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning this city of which you say, (G)‘It is given into the hand of the king of Babylon by sword, by famine, and by pestilence’:

34 They set up their vile images(A) in the house that bears my Name(B) and defiled(C) it. 35 They built high places for Baal in the Valley of Ben Hinnom(D) to sacrifice their sons and daughters to Molek,(E) though I never commanded—nor did it enter my mind(F)—that they should do such a detestable(G) thing and so make Judah sin.(H)
36 “You are saying about this city, ‘By the sword, famine and plague(I) it will be given into the hands of the king of Babylon’; but this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says:
