³⁷ I will surely gather^(A) them from all the lands where I banish them in my furious anger^(B) and great wrath; I will bring them back to this place and let them live in safety.^{(C) 38} They will be my people,^(D) and I will be their God. ³⁹ I will give them singleness^(E) of heart and action, so that they will always fear^(F) me and that all will then go well for them and for their children after them. ⁴⁰ I will make an everlasting covenant^(G) with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire^(H) them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me.^(I)

⁵⁸ You will bear the consequences of your lewdness and your detestable practices, declares the Lord.^(A)

⁵⁹ “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will deal with you as you deserve, because you have despised my oath by breaking the covenant.^{(B) 60} Yet I will remember the covenant^(C) I made with you in the days of your youth,^(D) and I will establish an everlasting covenant^(E) with you. ⁶¹ Then you will remember your ways and be ashamed^(F) when you receive your sisters, both those who are older than you and those who are younger. I will give them to you as daughters,^(G) but not on the basis of my covenant with you. ⁶² So I will establish my covenant^(H) with you, and you will know that I am the Lord.^{(I) 63} Then, when I make atonement^(J) for you for all you have done, you will remember and be ashamed^(K) and never again open your mouth^(L) because of your humiliation, declares the Sovereign Lord.^(M)’”

²⁴ “‘My servant David^(A) will be king^(B) over them, and they will all have one shepherd.^(C) They will follow my laws and be careful to keep my decrees.^{(D) 25} They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, the land where your ancestors lived.^(E) They and their children and their children’s children will live there forever,^(F) and David my servant will be their prince forever.^{(G) 26} I will make a covenant of peace^(H) with them; it will be an everlasting covenant.^(I) I will establish them and increase their numbers,^(J) and I will put my sanctuary among them^(K) forever.^(L)

²⁰ Consult God’s instruction^(A) and the testimony of warning.^(B) If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light^(C) of dawn.

⁶ he said, “Listen to my words:

¹⁶ All Scripture is God-breathed^(A) and is useful for teaching,^(B) rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,^{(C) 17} so that the servant of God^[a](D) may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.^(E)
