5 Así dice el Señor:
Maldito quien confía en el ser humano
y busca el apoyo de los seres creados,
apartando su corazón del Señor.
6 Será como un matojo del desierto
que no llegará a ver la lluvia;
vivirá en los sequedales de la estepa,
en tierra salobre, inhabitable.
7 Bendito quien confía en el Señor,
quien pone en el Señor su seguridad.
8 Será un árbol plantado junto al agua,
que alarga a la corriente sus raíces;
no temerá la llegada del estío,
mantendrá siempre verde su follaje.
No le inquietará un año de sequía,
ni dejará por eso de dar fruto.

5 Thus saith the Lord: “Cursed be the man that trusteth in man and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.
6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
7 “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.
8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be disquieted in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.”
