For he will be like a (A)bush in the desert,
And will not see when prosperity comes,
But will live in stony wastes in the wilderness,
A (B)land of salt that is not inhabited.
(C)Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose (D)trust is the Lord.
For he will be like a (E)tree planted by the water
That extends its roots by a stream,
And does not fear when the heat comes;
But its leaves will be green,
And it will not be anxious in a year of (F)drought,
Nor cease to yield fruit.

That person will be like a bush in the wastelands;

They will dwell in the parched places(A) of the desert,
    in a salt(B) land where no one lives.

“But blessed(C) is the one who trusts(D) in the Lord,
    whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
    that sends out its roots by the stream.(E)
It does not fear when heat comes;
    its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought(F)
    and never fails to bear fruit.”(G)
