¹⁷ If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.^(A)

²³ But whoever has doubts^(A) is condemned if they eat, because their eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.^[a]

¹³ while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse,^(A) deceiving and being deceived.^(B)

¹⁴ but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own^(A) evil desire and enticed. ¹⁵ Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin;^(B) and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.^(C)

⁴ Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.^(A)
