Isaiah 5:13-17

New International Version

¹³ Therefore my people will go into exile^(A)
    for lack of understanding;^(B)
those of high rank^(C) will die of hunger
    and the common people will be parched with thirst.^(D)
14 Therefore Death^(E) expands its jaws,
    opening wide its mouth;^(F)
into it will descend their nobles and masses
    with all their brawlers and revelers.^(G)
15 So people will be brought low^(H)
    and everyone humbled,^(I)
    the eyes of the arrogant^(J) humbled.
¹⁶ But the Lord Almighty will be exalted^(K) by his justice,^(L)
    and the holy God will be proved holy^(M) by his righteous acts.
¹⁷ Then sheep will graze as in their own pasture;^(N)
    lambs will feed^[a] among the ruins of the rich.
