Isaiah 31:5-9

New International Version

⁵ Like birds hovering^(A) overhead,
    the Lord Almighty will shield^(B) Jerusalem;
he will shield it and deliver^(C) it,
    he will ‘pass over’^(D) it and will rescue it.”

⁸ “Assyria^(J) will fall by no human sword;
    a sword, not of mortals, will devour^(K) them.
They will flee before the sword
    and their young men will be put to forced labor.^(L)
9 Their stronghold^(M) will fall because of terror;
    at the sight of the battle standard^(N) their commanders will panic,^(O)”
declares the Lord,
    whose fire^(P) is in Zion,
    whose furnace^(Q) is in Jerusalem.
