Isaiah 1:3-4
Legacy Standard Bible
3 An ox knows its owner,
And a donkey its master’s manger,
But Israel (A)does not know;
My people (B)do not perceive.”
4 Alas, sinful nation,
People heavy with iniquity,
(C)Seed of evildoers,
Sons who (D)act corruptly!
They have (E)forsaken Yahweh;
They have (F)spurned the Holy One of Israel;
They have [a]become estranged [b]from Him.

Jeremiah 8:5-10
Legacy Standard Bible
5 Why then has this people, Jerusalem,
[a](A)Turned away in continual faithlessness?
They (B)hold fast to deceit;
They (C)refuse to return.
6 I (D)have given heed and heard,
They have spoken what is not right;
(E)No man regretted his evil,
Saying, ‘What have I done?’
Everyone turned to his course,
Like a (F)horse charging into the battle.
7 Even the stork in the sky
(G)Knows her seasons;
And the (H)turtledove and the swift and the crane
Keep the time of their [b]migration;
But (I)My people do not know
The legal judgment of Yahweh.
8 “(J)How can you say, ‘We are wise,
And the law of Yahweh is with us’?
But behold, the lying pen of the scribes
Has made it into a lie.
9 The wise men are (K)put to shame;
They are dismayed and captured;
Behold, they have (L)rejected the word of Yahweh,
And what kind of wisdom do they have?
10 Therefore I will (M)give their wives to others,
Their fields to [c]new possessors,
Because from the least even to the greatest
Everyone is (N)greedy for gain;
From the prophet even to the priest
Everyone practices lying.
