Isaiah 8:10-12

¹⁰Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand, for God is with us.

¹¹For the LORD spoke thus to me with a strong hand and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,

¹²Do not say, A confederacy, to all those to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear their fear, nor be afraid.

¹⁰Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted;^(A)
propose your plan, but it will not stand,^(B)
for God is with us.^[a]^(C)

¹¹This is what the Lord says to me with his strong hand upon me,^(D) warning me not to follow^(E) the way of this people:

¹²“Do not call conspiracy^(F)
everything this people calls a conspiracy;
do not fear what they fear,^(G)
and do not dread it.^(H)
