¹⁴ Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you^[a] a sign: The virgin will conceive,^[b] have a son, and name him Immanuel.^[c](A)

The Triumphal Entry

21 When they approached Jerusalem^(A) and came to Bethphage at the Mount of Olives,^(B) Jesus then sent two disciples, ² telling them, “Go into the village ahead of you. At once you will find a donkey tied there, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to Me. ³ If anyone says anything to you, you should say that the Lord needs them, and immediately he will send them.”

⁴ This took place so that what was spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled:

⁴⁴ Then He told them, “These are My words^(A) that I spoke to you while I was still with you—that everything written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets,^(B) and the Psalms^(C) must be fulfilled.”

² which He promised long ago^(A) through His prophets^(B) in the Holy Scriptures— ³ concerning His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who was a descendant of David^[a](C) according to the flesh^{(D) 4} and who has been declared to be the powerful^(E) Son of God^(F) by the resurrection from the dead according to the Spirit of holiness.^[b]
