Living Bible
35 For my own honor I will defend it and in memory of my servant David.”
36 That night the Angel of the Lord went out to the camp of the Assyrians and killed 185,000 soldiers; when the living wakened the next morning, all these lay dead before them. 37 Then Sennacherib, king of Assyria, returned to his own country, to Nineveh.

35 “I will defend(A) this city and save it,
for my sake(B) and for the sake of David(C) my servant!”
36 Then the angel(D) of the Lord went out and put to death(E) a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the Assyrian(F) camp. When the people got up the next morning—there were all the dead bodies! 37 So Sennacherib(G) king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew. He returned to Nineveh(H) and stayed there.
