15 As a result, there will be nothing for Egypt
    that head or tail, palm branch or reed, can do.[a]

Egypt and Syria Will Worship God

16 At that time,[b] the Egyptians will be like women—they[c] will shudder and be afraid before the uplifted hand of the Lord of the Heavenly Armies, when he brandishes his hand against her.[d] 17 And the land of Judah will become a terror to the Egyptians. Everyone to whom it is mentioned will be afraid, because of the uplifted hand[e] of the Lord of the Heavenly Armies that[f] is turning in their direction.

15 There is nothing Egypt can do—
    head or tail, palm branch or reed.(A)

16 In that day(B) the Egyptians will become weaklings.(C) They will shudder with fear(D) at the uplifted hand(E) that the Lord Almighty raises against them. 17 And the land of Judah will bring terror to the Egyptians; everyone to whom Judah is mentioned will be terrified,(F) because of what the Lord Almighty is planning(G) against them.
