Isaiah 8:1

New International Version

8 The Lord said to me, “Take a large scroll^(A) and write on it with an ordinary pen: Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz.”^[a]^(B)

Isaiah 8:1 Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz means quick to the plunder, swift to the spoil; also in verse 3.

8 Moreover the Lord said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man's pen concerning Mahershalalhashbaz.

²Then the Lord replied:

“Write^(A) down the revelation
and make it plain on tablets
so that a herald^[a] may run with it.

²And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
